Hello, me again. I just realised that the title [Genesis] of my last post (and first post) might give the impression that I am a religious person or this was somehow inspired by the Book of Genesis.

Well, <del>funny</del> story there. You see, one of my favourite tv/movie series is Star Trek. One of my favourite of the movies is Star Trek II: The Wrath Of Khan. It truly is a classic movie.

Ok, Sean, What the hell are you talking about?

Hold on, I’ll get to it.

So, I was re-watching it the other day [I've got the 10 movies dvd box set] and my imagination was captured by the Genesis Planet. The Genesis Planet was created as the result of rapid terraforming – turning an uninhabitable planet into a vibrant and life-filled environment and so on and so on.

Anyway, the point is that this blog is the start of a new period of my life and the like the Genesis Planet, my life will transforming for the better. This blog is to document that.

The best is yet to come. and don’t worry about this blog being all about Star Trek, that’s for Memory Alpha – Star Trek wiki

The Origin of seanbennett.com.au

I guess I’ve always wanted to create my own website. The idea of etching out a small section of internet to claim as my own just seemed too cool and surely I can make a site worthy of existence.

Hey, I’m not trying to create the next big thing on internet here but I am confident that I certainly will have a site that is better than many, many of the sites that are out there now.

Now that I have begun my blog, what am I going to use it for? (btw, I talk to myself sometimes)

Well, I know that the average number of readers of a blog is one – the writer. Realistically, I can write whatever I feel like and no one will notice. Even though I have used my full name, I’m still pretty much anonymous considering the amount of people who will come across me and take notice.

If you are reading this, please prove me wrong and post a comment or contact me.

Ok, if no one is reading, then why am I writing?

I do consider myself to be an optimist and, as such, I have got to believe that someone will be interested in reading what I have to say. Also, while this post represents the beginning of my blog, it also represents the beginning of the next part of my life.

You see, the immediate future is going to be a period of great change for me. I have some goals and just putting them out there will make me more accountable to them. Because if I don’t follow through with what I set out to do then my failure will be on public record.

Once something is placed online, you really lose any control of it – it is out there and it isn’t going to respond to you calling it back.

Ok, wow, I wanted to say a bit more but I don’t want my posts to be too long so I’ll leave it there for now.
